Dual Air-Assist System
Precise control of your air assist for cutting and engraving. High and low air pressure for cleaner results.
Controlled by the Smart Board, there are 2 modes for the air assist function of the Thunder Laser machine. Usually Thunder set low volume air for engraving and high volume air for cutting on the design drawing layer on laser software. This way they can get cleaner results on both engraving and cutting process. This also works in Lightburn software. For cutting we simply switch air assist on, for engraving we switch air assist off and this activates the low air stage.
Air assist is an important feature to reduce the risk of materials catching fire when heated by the laser. Air assist also protects the lens from the smoke and dust generated during laser processing of materials. Neither the low volume air nor the high volume air is activated until the laser starts. This proprietary dual air function also helps to save energy and reduce noise.
Eightfold Open-flap Protection
8 x Open-cover protection sensor switches were installed on four covers. For each cover is standard for CE certification and FDA requirements, it ensures that the entire machine is safe enough for the operator. If one of the sensors should fail, the protection would still work. Also, the laser will stop if someone open any machine cover during working.
To facilitate machine maintenance, Thunder's engineers have developed a patented circuit board that detects the working status of these sensors. There is a button to switch to maintenance mode for laser beam alignment.
