Double Fun with 10+ Combo of Materials

Dual extrusion is an acquired taste, but once you've mastered it, there are somethings in 3D printing that a single hot end just won't do. An intricate print with fine detail. A gadget that combines PLA and TPU. A two-tone little thing that your kid has been dying to have.

We all know it's not easy to remove the support materials, not only of the time consuming, but it's also impossible to do it as well as you'd like. All you need to do is hang a roll of water-soluble PVA on the other side of the PLA consumable, and the printed model will emerge clean and unscathed.

Multi-color Printing
People said less is more because in order to bring out the core qualities, the fewer elements involved, the better. But when it comes to colour, who would choose monotony? A monochrome zebra is just a toy, but if you print it in black and shiny white, you will give it life, depth and meaning.

Quick-swap Hot Ends
In addition, the hot-end can be changed in less than 5 seconds, you can also work with engineered materials such as glass fibre nylon and carbon fibre nylon. Luban will automatically recognise the hot end and provide the appropriate print settings for you.

Stable Extrusion with 20mm³/s FLow and High Quality Printing
You may want to ask, how about the quality of printing?Let's calculate this up: stepper motor + planetary gear + dual extrusion gears for each hot end = ?
The 7.5:1 planetary gears transmit power from the motor with much higher torque, allowing us to use relatively small motors to achieve the required pulling force. The elimination of unnecessary weight turn results in much less vibration of the tool head at the same rate of acceleration, maintaining the same print accuracy as the single extrusion module.

At the same time, the 68-tooth, 12mm diameter double extrusion wheels are able to make full contact with the consumables they are extruding, thus applying a constant force to the consumables and preventing them from being over- or under-extruded due to uneven forces. So, return to the previous question, the answer is a full and stable extrusion, a 20 mm³/s flow rate and a high quality print result.

Maintain Constant Temperature with 4 Fans
As well as removing the support, another thing that make people headache is cleaning the nozzles, that have become clogged with consumables. With the Snapmaker Dual Extrusion 3D Print Module, you shouldn't have to worry about this for a long time.

Each of your hot end has its own fan, blowing much-needed wind from a blower to prevent your filament from melting prematurely in the heat sink, which invariably ends up clogging the hot end. And if you still remember the time your overhang failed miserably on you, no worry, your overhangs will be cool this time. Another set of fans is located at the bottom right and left. These will keep your nozzles and prints cool. So whether you are printing a bold overhang or ABS/PA, dive in head first and adjust the fan speed later.

Two Hot Ends Work on One toolhead
Given how time consuming it is to switch between printheads on other dual extrusion printers, you may have another question: how do the two hot ends work on one module?

At first Snapmaker thought that they might as well raise the module to a certain height and hit the stopper on the Z-axis to switch the printheads, but they were also shocked by the loud noise of the printheads made when switching. So they came up with a more efficient and elegant way of switching the nozzles: with an electric motor.

When your G-code tells the device "it's time to change", the high-precision rail in the module automatically lifts the hot end, which switches the hot end and continues printing. The whole process is completed in less than 3 seconds and the switching and repositioning is accurate to 0.012mm.

Flexible Nozzle Size
For even more flexibility, you can adjust the nozzle settings in Luban. When printing models with a demanding appearance, use the hot end of the 0.2mm nozzle to print the outside of the model, which is not only aesthetically aesthetic but also strudy. When printing models with more filler structure, the hot end of a 0.6 or 0.8 mm nozzle is more efficient.

Fully Auto Levelling
If you have lost your calibration card, you don't have to look for it, because the proximity switch in the module will detect the fixed points on the heated bed one by one and the master control will process the data, eliminating the need for manual levelling at the last point. The Z-direction is also easy to calibrate, the optoelectronic switch will do it for you.

Power-loss and Filament Run-out Recovery
Like the single-jet module, the dual-jet 3D printing module supports power failure and material breakage. Simply follow the screen step-by-step instructions to resume printing.

Remark:
1) You can Purchase the hot ends with 0.2, 0.6, 0.8mm nozzle diameter and 0.4mm hardened steel hot end in Snapmaker offical store. All of them are compatible with Snapmaker 2.0 and Artisan Dual Extrusion 3D Printing Module.
2) Without the Snapmaker Enclosure, the noise level when you put all fans at full speed, will be 55.6 dB; while with Snapmaker Enclosure, the noise level will be 42.3 dB.
3) Hardened steel nozzle should be used when printing with nylon and reinforced nylon filaments.
