II. Calibration Steps
The Shining 3D EinStar comes with a dedicated "calibration board." Before starting 3D scanning, simply follow the software's instructions to align with the scanning frame for calibration, and the system calibration will be easily completed. It consists of two quick calibration steps, requiring capture from 5 different angles (top, front-left, front-right, back-left, back-right). For white balance, move the scanning device slowly and steadily up and down. When the software prompts for the appropriate height, the scanning device will automatically capture and complete the white balance calibration.

II. Start 3D Scanning
The Shining 3D EinStar boasts an ultra-large scanning range of up to 434 x 379 mm, allowing for high-efficiency scanning in a single pass. For this test, we scanned a Thanos gauntlet approximately 30cm tall. It's recommended to use a turntable for assistance, freely rotating the model, and it took only about 20 minutes to capture all the details. Since the gems on the Thanos gauntlet are transparent, it's suggested to use AESUB Orange 3D scanning spray, as the developer agent automatically disappears and requires no cleaning (Click here to see: AESUB Blue vs. Orange: Evaporation Time and Effect Comparison).

III. Software Operation
The EXStar software interface is visual and user-friendly, featuring various advanced software functions, guided scanning, and more, allowing for easy acquisition of complete, high-quality point cloud data. After the calibration steps are completed, you enter the scanning phase. The scanning mode offers human and object scenarios. You can choose the most suitable scenario based on the current situation.

The device has start/stop scanning buttons. The preview window displays a real-time focus preview, and the central area is the live scan. The far left indicates the appropriate scanning distance range, the bottom indicates too close, and the top indicates too far. Try to keep it within the middle distance range.

Once the scan is complete, use the built-in tools (rectangle/polygon/lasso, etc.) to select and delete unwanted areas. Then, click "Generate Point Cloud."

After confirming that there are no other irrelevant objects in the scanned item, click on "Model Envelope." Choose "Fully Closed Model" and select output formats such as PLY, OBJ, STL, or 3MF for saving.

The 3D scanned Thanos gauntlet captures the intricate details of its complex textures, from varying colors to the finger joints and the rock texture of the base, all rendered with high precision. The awe of the "snap" is perfectly recreated!
The Shining 3D EinStar can scan various objects, quickly acquiring accurate 3D data. Combined with 3D technology, whether for reverse engineering to recreate discontinued parts, art replication and restoration, or custom medical aids, it saves you a significant amount of time and expands your endless imagination!
