The new Bambu Lab H2S is a machine many 3D printing users have been eagerly anticipating – a single nozzle, high-end Core XY print head, and a larger print volume.
It boasts a massive print volume, with a 340 x 340 mm print bed, making it "helmet-sized."
That's right, it's an H2D without the fancy dual-nozzle version.
It features all the second-generation technology of its predecessor, such as a servo motor extruder, an advanced airflow system, and AI detection throughout the filament path.

This unboxing features the H2S Laser Combo, equipped with a 10W laser.
If you purchase the H2S without the laser version, you can still upgrade to the laser version later, but you cannot upgrade to a dual nozzle.
Bambu Lab recommends that if you want a dual nozzle, you should buy the dual-nozzle H2D.

Unboxing
The Bambu Lab H2S packaging comes with everything needed to set up the printer, plus some extra parts.
The printer comes pre-installed with test models and practical print files for making handmade tools.
Blades and screws are included for making a DIY scraper.
Additionally, a printed quick start guide and instructions on how to use the slicer and mobile app are provided.
A QR code is printed on the inside of the box lid, which can be scanned to watch an unboxing video.
Of course, most importantly, there's also the AMS 2 Pro, and the 10W laser head with cutting blade.

Big Space, Big Choices
The H2S is the single-nozzle version of Bambu Lab's excellent H2D 3D printer.
It is a fully enclosed printer with an aluminum steel chassis and a plastic casing.
It can withstand higher temperatures than the previous X1C, with a nozzle temperature of up to 350°C and a print bed temperature of up to 120°C.
The air filter has also been improved to reduce airborne particulate matter in the room.
The best improvement in the H series is that this machine features adaptive airflow, which can heat and cool the print chamber simultaneously.
This means you can finally print more than just PLA and other "low-temperature" filaments.

The H2S can have a laser version, which means this printer has the same flame-retardant interior as the H2D.
While the H2D's standout feature is its single hotend with dual nozzles, this unique feature also takes up some print space.
The H2S can fully utilize its 340 x 340 mm space, making it the largest print size machine Bambu Lab has manufactured to date.
Bambu Lab has adopted A1-type nozzles for the new H series, but they are not entirely identical.
These nozzles are easier to replace because they are held in place by snaps and magnets, and all wires remain on the tool head.
Fast and Accurate
In testing, the H2S's speed was impressive; the H2S can print 30% faster than the X1C.
The print head can reach a maximum speed of 1000 mm/s and an acceleration of 20,000 mm/s².
So, while the acceleration is the same as the X1C, the print speed has actually doubled, resulting in an actual speed increase of about 30%.
Like the H2D, the H2S's single nozzle can reach 350°C, making it ideal for printing engineering-grade materials like ASA and nylon.
The H2S is a fully enclosed environment, which helps ensure optimal printing conditions for these materials, and the filtration system also helps remove any toxins from the material during printing.

Bambu Lab has equipped the H2S with a series of sensors that can detect if a print is going wrong and stop it before problems arise.
And when material runs out and needs to be replaced, the process of resuming printing is very accurate, so there's no need to worry about the common problem of layer shifting.
A major highlight of this extruder is its permanent magnet synchronous servo motor, which increases extrusion force by 67%, and the filament extrusion process is exceptionally smooth.
When comparing the print quality of the H2D and H2S, there is essentially no difference.

Along with the significant new features of adding a laser head and a cutting head to the machine, the H2S also has the option to use a vision encoder board to correct errors after long-term use.
Especially if you are using it for professional product design or any work with strict dimensional requirements, it is essential to use this feature regularly. The vision encoder can be used for any print requiring 50-micron accuracy.
Like the H2D printer, the H2S can also use the AMS Pro 2.
The AMS 2 Pro is fully compatible with the original AMS and AMS HT.
You can also connect multiple AMS modules together, expanding your print colors to more than 4 filament choices.

Multi-functional Production Center
The 10W laser engraving head of the H2S Laser Full Combo can easily handle most cutting and engraving tasks.
Thanks to the integrated air-assist system, plywood or acrylic up to 5mm thick can be cut cleanly, keeping edges clear and sharp, free from smoke stains or charring.
The bird's-eye camera and real-time tracking feature ensure positioning accuracy within 0.3mm, allowing for a perfect "print-then-cut" workflow.
Additionally, it comes with a protective enclosure, flame detection sensors, and a door opening stop, making it a versatile production center – not just a 3D printer, but a machine capable of printing, engraving, cutting, and drawing.
