【3D Printing Test】"Wanhao UV Curing Chamber" Test and Unboxing Review!
Hello everyone! Another unboxing review of a new post-processing accessory is here! You may have noticed that 3DMart has recently added many 3D manufacturing related peripherals. In addition to CNC, laser cutting, and vacuum forming machines, post-processing accessories are also not to be missed. Among common 3D printing technologies, the exquisite and smooth surface of SLA resin printing is highly appealing. However, compared to other technologies, it is more prone to brittleness and requires care against impact. Therefore, UV light exposure is needed to strengthen it.
After connecting the power and placing the base plate, to achieve 360-degree illumination, the platform material is also made of fully transparent glass. The curing chamber is equipped with 4 UV LED light sources and a full mirror reflection design, aiming to uniformly and completely illuminate every corner of the 3D printed product.
The unboxing process was a bit short, wasn't it? That's right! This Wanhao UV Curing Chamber is that simple – virtually open, plug in, and activate. Although we still recommend using it in a well-ventilated indoor environment, the fan inside the curing chamber has an activated carbon filter, so there won't be any chemical odors. The air intake at the back needs a little space, so don't push the machine right up against the wall.
When performing UV post-curing on a resin 3D printed object, you will see the UV LED lights inside the chamber turn on. Please remember to turn off the UV lights before opening the chamber door, as ultraviolet light is a type of electromagnetic radiation and contact with eyes and skin should be avoided as much as possible.
Next, we will test the effect of 3D printed products before and after curing. We used a DWS XFAB 2500HD SLA 3D printer with 917 gray resin to print an ultra-thin 1mm bridge sample in the middle. The left side is without UV post-curing, and the right side is the product after enhanced curing. We specially invited Mr. Rhino to verify it!
The 3D printed product without post-curing is relatively soft, and when stepped on, it bends closer to the table. The cured product on the right, when stepped on, firmly supports Mr. Rhino with only a slight bend, indicating significantly improved hardness and strength.
