FAQ1. What are the differences between the P3 and P2 series?
P2 (Smart Creative Laser Machine): Aimed at creative professionals, focusing on simplifying complex creative processes with smart features.
P3 (Efficient Production Laser Machine): Aimed at small commercial production, focusing on speed and efficiency to maximize commercial output.
The P3 has achieved comprehensive and significant upgrades compared to the P2 series in three core dimensions: industrial performance and material capabilities, intelligence and automation, and safety.
Industrial Performance and Material CapabilitiesPower and Functionality: The P3 uses a more powerful 80W CO₂ laser (P2S is 55W) and has an optional 5W infrared (IR) laser module. The dual-laser configuration allows the P3 to engrave/mark on metal and plastic.
Size and Speed: The P3's working area is 2.3 times that of the P2S, and its maximum speed is significantly higher (1200 mm/s).
Intelligence and AutomationCore Workflow: The P3 introduces the ACS™ intelligent workflow, integrating automatic positioning, autofocus, and an automatic lifting base to minimize manual intervention.
Safety System
The P3 comes standard with a built-in CO₂ active fire extinguishing system; on the P2S, this critical protection requires purchasing an additional fire safety kit.
The P3 has significantly advanced in safety, obtaining Class 1 laser safety certification; while the P2S is a Class 4 device. The P3's top-tier safety comes from its multi-layered system design: integrated upgraded high-precision sensing systems (8 infrared sensors, temperature sensor, and side cameras), combined with advanced visual algorithms; while the P2S primarily relies on camera recognition.
2. What is the Automated Creation System™ (ACS™)?
The revolutionary ACS™ workflow integrated into the P3 aims to completely free users from tedious manual settings, achieving an ultimate "place-and-go" convenience. This includes the collaborative work of automatic positioning, autofocus, and an automatic lifting base.
The revolutionary ACS™ (Automated Creation System) workflow in the P3 aims to completely free users from tedious manual settings, achieving the ultimate convenience of "place-and-go." It allows technology to serve creativity rather than hinder it, ensuring every creation is precise, flawless, and smooth.
The hardware-coordinated workflow includes:
Automatic Positioning: Just close the lid. The high-resolution dual-camera system (16MP SkyView camera and close-up detail camera) instantly captures a real-time image of the entire work area, allowing you to precisely align your design with the material in the software.
Autofocus: An advanced laser ranging system measures the precise distance to the material surface.
Automatic Lifting Base: Brings the material to perfect focus, ensuring perfect results every time—no manual tools required.
3. What new materials can the P3 process?
Thanks to its new modular capabilities (optional 5W infrared laser), it will be the first xTool CO₂ machine that can engrave directly on plastics and metals such as stainless steel and aluminum.
4. What are the maximum object size and height that the P3 can process?
Working Area: The xTool P3 has a standard working area of 915 mm × 458 mm, approximately 2.3 times that of the P2S, making it easy to handle large projects or more efficient mass production. For projects requiring processing of extra-long materials, the P3 is compatible with an optional smart conveyor feeder, allowing for processing of materials with virtually unlimited length.
Processable Object Thickness (Height): Unlike the older P2 series, which required a separately purchased, manual riser base, the P3 comes standard with a built-in AutoLift automatic lifting base (max load 35.3 lbs/16 kg), providing 220 mm of vertical space, allowing direct engraving on larger objects such as briefcases and gift boxes, saving effort and trouble.
Is a separate riser base required: No. The automatic lifting base is standard.
5. What upgrades does RA3 have compared to RA2 Pro?
RA3 has undergone a revolutionary upgrade compared to RA2 Pro, transforming it into a smarter, faster, and more powerful professional production system.
Smarter: Introduces intelligent workflows, including rotary mode recognition, 360° LiDAR modeling, and 3D preview. It eliminates guesswork and trial-and-error, making seamless full-circumference engraving on complex rotary objects like vases possible.
Faster: Adopts the MagSwap™ design, enabling tool-free, seconds-quick changeovers, turning minutes of installation into seconds; engraving speed is increased by 2.4 times. *
More Powerful: Adds a unique batch processing function to help expand your business; and provides greater, more stable clamping capability, adapting to larger diameter cylindrical workpieces.
* Note: 2.4 times speed is based on RA2 Pro on xTool P2S
