【3D Scanning】Shining 3D Launches Einstar Vega to Unleash Your 3D Vision
Shining 3D has launched its latest 3D scanning product, the Einstar Vega, promising to provide customers with professional digital modeling and image capture capabilities. The Einstar Vega is a handheld 3D scanner, which Shining 3D calls an "all-in-one" scanner.
Vega is capable of scanning, post-processing, and storing models. The Einstar Vega includes two 3D scanning technologies, built-in computation, and internal data archiving, allowing users to scan and access data anytime, anywhere, without needing to connect to a computer or other device, and share data with SHINING3D Cloud. It is equipped with PC software "StarVision" which supports data editing, post-processing, and project merging.
Dual Scan Modes
While Shining 3D states that the VEGA targets beginners and non-industrial users, it inherits the same data acquisition and software editing capabilities found in its professional 3D scanning products.
Vega also features two scanning modes - Fast and HD - each utilizing different types of scanning technology.
These two unique scanning technologies are optimized for their specific strengths:
Fast Mode uses an infrared VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) projector to efficiently scan large objects.
Fast Mode is suitable for large objects, with a working distance of 350-1500 mm and scanning speeds up to 20 FPS.
To achieve this, it uses an infrared VCSEL projector.
HD Mode, on the other hand, uses a MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) projector for scanning small objects with high detail.
HD Mode uses a MEMS projector, with a working distance of 100-250 mm and speeds up to 15 FPS.

In terms of hardware, the Vega boasts 32 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and an octa-core 2.4 GHz processor, all within a "lightweight" 535 g structure.
For scanning, you'll use the device's 48MP RGB camera and 6.4-inch 2K AMOLED screen.
Shining 3D states that the EINSTAR VEGA can operate for up to two hours before needing to be recharged, though it can also be used while charging.
Shining 3D, specializing in affordable products for industrial scanning and 3D measurement, states that its new wireless scanner, EINSTAR VEGA, is designed to meet the needs of designers, artists, engineers, and manufacturers looking for portable, high-performance solutions.

Shining 3D states that, compared to industrial scanners for users in strictly regulated industries like medical, aerospace, and automotive, VEGA was developed to meet the needs of users who don't necessarily require metrology-grade measurement accuracy, but instead prioritize usability and flexibility for daily applications in 3D measurement, digital archiving, object restoration, or art projects.
"Everyone put a lot of effort into the development of VEGA," said the project leader. "From project initiation to product launch, it took us over two years, with the team working side-by-side to overcome one technical challenge after another. From hardware to software to algorithms, every iteration and update is the result of our collective efforts."
