To jointly combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), product design platform Wikifactory and Snapmaker have partnered to host a design competition with the theme "Fighting the Virus." We previously introduced a series of self-made pandemic prevention items (click here to view). The #SafeToPlay design competition will be held from June 8, 2020 (closing on July 5). The event's main goal is to encourage global efforts to combat the virus, using works created with the Snapmaker 2.0 A350 3-in-1 3D Printer, combined with high-temperature resistant and antiviral materials (e.g., PETG, ABS, copper alloy, etc.), and integrating 3D printing, laser engraving and cutting, and CNC carving technologies.
(Application example: a "copper whistle" designed and made with antiviral materials.)
The grand prizes include a Snapmaker 2.0 A350 3-in-1 3D Printer, a Snapmaker Original 3-in-1 3D Printer, 1 year of free use of the Wikifactory design platform, and other awards. The organizers will also provide professional guidance, offering the opportunity to actually prototype the designer's work.
