【3D Panorama Scan】NTUST 3D Printing Workshop, Panoramic Virtual Reality for Remote Teaching!
Is remote learning during the pandemic tough? Navigate a 360-degree panorama, making remote learning feel incredibly immersive! NTUST Department of Materials Science and Engineering's "3D Material Art Dream Workshop" breaks traditional teaching methods, 3D panorama of NTUST Dream Workshop:
National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) is a renowned technological university in Taiwan, comprising six colleges including Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Management, Design, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Applied Technology. Its goal is to cultivate advanced engineering and management professionals, making it a dream school for many students!
To enable students to learn various 3D printing technologies and unleash their potential, the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at NTUST specially applied for the Ministry of Education's program to optimize technical workplaces, establishing a 3D printing practical workshop (3D Material Art Dream Workshop). Here, students can use various technical equipment such as 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser engraving machines, and CNC milling machines to unleash their innovative ideas.
At the 2020 3D Printing Exhibition, 3DMart met Professor Hsin-Ping Huang from the NTUST Department of Materials Science and Engineering. We were honored to collaborate through Matterport spatial scanning to panoramically capture the department's 3D printing practical workshop and convert it into a 360-degree virtual panoramic space.

"Due to the pandemic, the school has fully transitioned to online courses, making it difficult for students to physically operate the equipment, which poses significant challenges for experimental courses. With panoramic scanning technology, remote teaching is enhanced, not only providing students with a more immersive experience but also allowing the results of Matterport panoramic scans to be shared online for anytime access, making teaching explanations much easier!" said Professor Hsin-Ping Huang from NTUST's Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

The 3D printing practical workshop boasts a diverse range of technical equipment, including 3D printers, 3D scanners, laser engraving machines, and CNC milling machines. The spacious workshop is divided into areas such as a small group discussion area, equipment practice area, computer usage area, and finished product display area, where students can freely unleash their creativity!

In the 3D Material Art Dream Workshop, there are various Phrozen series resin 3D printers, including Phrozen Sonic Mini, Sonic Mighty, Shuffle, and Transform models; FLUX series laser engraving machines, and Roland milling machines, providing students with industrial-grade equipment for use on campus.

By entering the Matterport panoramic space and clicking on the markers on the floor, you can freely navigate the 3D printing practical workshop. With simple mouse controls, you can adjust the angle up, down, left, and right, and explore every detail of the space in high-definition.
"The 3D panoramic scan achieves an effect similar to Google Street View. Both the ease of use and the final virtual reality effect impressed us!" Professor Huang Hsin-Ping said excitedly. The 3D printing practical workshop at NTUST's Department of Materials Science and Engineering has actively organized various courses and activities, and also allowed students to try organizing them. Through the process of preparing various courses and activities, not only can 3D printing talents be trained, but students' leadership qualities can also be cultivated!
