The King Car Education Foundation established the King Car Art Center in 2008. The "King Car Art Center" aims to support Taiwanese local art and literature, encourage young creators, provide a comprehensive platform, and strive to enhance public aesthetics. The King Car Art Center has a total of three exhibition spaces: the Nanjing Branch and Chengde Branch in Taipei, and the Yuanshan Branch in Yilan. Each venue has different exhibition characteristics.
The types of exhibitions are quite diverse, ranging from sculptures, prints, three-dimensional works, videos, and other mixed-media art pieces. Among them, the Chengde Branch in Taipei, in addition to regular exhibitions, also regularly holds creative and art-related lectures and activities, inviting renowned designers and artists to share their creative journeys. It also discovers more Taiwanese creators by holding various design competitions based on life experiences and creativity.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, all exhibitions at the King Car Art Center have been temporarily closed to visitors due to government policies, and all previously scheduled exhibitions were put on hold. The team explored various alternatives to allow artists' exhibitions to proceed online as scheduled despite the epidemic.

To organize online exhibitions, the King Car Art Center considered many different online exhibition models. In addition to simply displaying image files on their official website, they hoped to provide visitors with a better experience. Therefore, through Matterport panoramic scanning, the art center's exhibition spaces were transformed into virtual reality environments. Visitors can freely navigate through the exhibition spaces and interact directly with the artworks using only a mobile phone or tablet. They can also view each artwork in high definition. When they see a favorite piece, visitors can adjust the angle and zoom in to fully appreciate the details.

Not only that, in the panoramic virtual museum, each artwork is accompanied by a Mattertag annotation point. Simply move the mouse over the point, and the artwork's introduction will automatically appear, detailing its name, medium, and actual dimensions at a glance.

A planning specialist from the King Car Art Center mentioned that since the exhibition hall is located in Taipei, not everyone can visit during each exhibition period. Through Matterport panoramic scanning, people from other counties and cities, and even across Taiwan and the world, can visit all the art center's exhibitions online. The reason for choosing to purchase a Matterport Pro2 3D panoramic scanner was not only to respond to the epidemic situation but also to promote through a virtual online model. Even after the epidemic, it can be promoted in a faster and more transparent way, allowing the excellent works of young artists to be seen worldwide.
As the Level 3 epidemic alert gradually lifts, the art center hopes to use 3D panoramic scanning to serve as a preview for exhibitions, bridging the gap between the general public and art. The Matterport scanning effect is more interactive than flat promotional materials like magazines and books. Through online and offline display methods, it offers a dual sensory experience and outcome!

The King Car Art Center provides young Taiwanese artists with a completely free platform. Every July, artists can apply for exhibition space. Those aged 20-40 are eligible to apply. Through review, interviews, and professional training courses, the center provides comprehensive planning for each artist from the early, middle, and late stages to exhibition setup.
