ColorFabb_HT is a 3D printing material very suitable for advanced applications, especially for printing objects that require durability, toughness, and temperature resistance. It also has FDA certification, is styrene-free and BPA-free, making it a safe 3D printing material.
The first layer printing settings for ColorFabb_HT are very important. To prevent warping, it is recommended to heat the build plate to 110~120°C. For printing some special structures, tools like BuildTak can be used.

Applications:
Automotive
HT combines high toughness with high temperature resistance, making it more suitable for industrial applications, such as the automotive industry.

Functional Prototypes
We expect this type of application to increase, for example, casings for headphones or handheld electronic devices, which require good material stability and heat resistance.

Durable Parts
Based on its excellent durability and mechanical properties, HT is an ideal material for making tools and fixtures; it is an excellent material for enriching your toolbox or for customized production.

Heated Bed
ColorFabb_HT recommends using a heated bed for printing medium to large objects to prevent warping. You don't need to worry about warping leading to layer delamination; just ensure the bottom layer of the object adheres flat to the platform. For small to medium-sized objects, a temperature of 110~120°C is recommended. For large or wide-based objects, auxiliary tools (such as BuildTak) may be needed to increase adhesion and prevent warping.
Printing Temperature
Printing temperature will be set based on layer thickness and print speed. Generally, for a layer thickness of 0.2mm and a print speed of 50mm/s, a printing temperature of 260~280°C is recommended. If the layer thickness is 0.1mm and the print speed is 50mm/s, a printing temperature of 250~270°C is recommended. Not all 3D printer nozzles can heat up to 250~260°C, so please check if your machine can be used before use.
PS. Filament flow rate (mm3/s) = layer thickness * nozzle diameter * print speed
Cooling
For best strength, it is recommended not to use the fan during printing, as this can result in better layer adhesion and less warping. If your object structure does not have overhanging slopes or sharp cones, then you can print beautifully even without a fan. Alternatively, turn on the fan when printing the exterior and turn it off when printing infill.
Bridging (Overhang)
Most slicer software allows you to set the speed, cooling, and even flow rate for bridging. It is recommended to slow down the print speed when bridging to prevent the molten material in unsupported overhangs from being damaged by a fast-moving nozzle. Slowing down the print speed also helps maintain the molten material's strength and allows the filament time to cool in mid-air.
A fan setting of 100% can help the first layer cool better.
If the molten material is still damaged despite the above settings, try increasing the flow rate or the perimeter of the bridge.
Retraction
Before adjusting retraction, please ensure you have found the appropriate printing temperature and speed for your machine. PLA retraction settings are a great starting point for various machines, or you can adjust them according to the parameter table.
Simplify3D's Coasting feature allows the nozzle to stop extruding before moving, reducing pressure buildup and making retraction more efficient.
Minimum Layer Time
This function allows each layer of filament a certain amount of time to cool, but how much to set depends on the properties of the filament. For HT, it is recommended to set the minimal layertime to 8~10 seconds.
