【3D Printing News】2019 Mega Maker Day!What are makers playing with?

The 2019 "MegaMakerDay" concluded successfully last week! In addition to bringing together many makers, craft markets, and startups, this year's event was expanded due to overwhelming registration. Many of the latest technologies previously used in industry are gradually entering the consumer market. What fun and interesting new things were there at the event? Let's take a look back at the highlights!

This year, in addition to the two indoor halls, there were also many outdoor booths, mostly featuring handmade crafts and experiential activities. It was very suitable for both adults and children, and after the weather cleared up, the venue was packed with people.

Even the stalls selling food and beverages used recyclable cardboard tables and chairs, which perfectly fit the theme of "Mega Maker Day" and attracted everyone to try them out. On-site testing showed their sturdiness was comparable to regular plastic tables and chairs, with a compact structure and light weight. We hope they can be widely applied in the future.

In addition to the performance stage in the outdoor plaza area, there was also a student-led robotics competition. Many robots were equipped with robotic arms, capable of stacking and picking up objects. These young students are Taiwan's rising stars!

In addition, "Spider Maker," a Taiwanese material supplier constantly improving its 3D printing materials, also showcased more colorful lollipop matte samples. The finished products had an astonishing level of detail, with almost no 3D printing textures characteristic of FDM visible. The superhero series made with matte black PLA filament were printed with an Ultimaker 3D printer!

The booths in the hall featured many handmade accessories created using CNC machining, laser engraving, and 3D printing. On the second floor, there was even custom clothing and T-shirt production, where you could pick a design, print it on the spot, and wear it immediately. The speed was truly eye-opening.

Among the many industries, there were also realistic food models, often seen in department stores. The instant a wok of fried rice was tossed and suspended in mid-air was quite eye-catching, and just looking at it was enough to make one's mouth water.

This time, 3DMart also participated in the exhibition, and of course, our on-site interactive activities were not to be missed. We brought the latest Ultimaker S3 3D printer, FormBox, and Vaquform DT2, which were crowded with parents bringing young students to experience custom coasters made with vacuum forming machines and various industrial samples produced with 3D printing.
