PolyLite™ is part of a series of 3D printing filaments made from the best raw materials to provide superior quality and reliability. PolyLite™ covers the most popular, environmentally friendly 3D printing filaments for your everyday design and prototyping needs.
PolyLite™ PETG has become a mainstream and widely used material in the 3D printer industry. With print performance ranging from tough PLA to impact resistant ABS, it is the most cost effective print cable in the PolyLite family, delivering consistent 3D print quality.
Why use PETG?
Many 3D printing users started with PLA, but now they have started to use PETG because it has similar printing parameters to PLA, not high shrinkage, less warpage, and is an easy material to print, but physically it is close to the characteristics of ABS, with high impact strength and very good toughness.
So if you want easy 3D printing but also the effect of ABS properties, PETG is a good choice. In terms of price, it is generally not much different from PLA and ABS. In terms of colour, there are many types of PETG colours on the market, including red, blue, green, yellow, black, white and other common colours.
In terms of 3D printing parameters, the general heating temperature of the PETG nozzle is 230 to 240ºC, and the temperature of the substrate is 70-80ºC.
(The above parameters are based on PolyMaker PolyLite PETG for example.)
The main advantages and common characteristics of PETG:
• Very good printability, physical properties close to ABS.
• More flexible than PLA, softer, more suitable for printing assemblies.
• Very low shrinkage and warpage, recommended for users who need to print large items.
• PETG is also very strong and unbreakable.
• PETG has excellent interlayer adhesion, resulting in excellent print results.
• It adheres well to the printing platform, so take care when removing it after printing.
• It has excellent chemical resistance, including resistance to alkalis, acids and water.
• Printing is odourless and office friendly.
• ETG is available in a wide range of translucent colours and has an excellent gloss finish.
