03 / MATERIAL APPLICATIONS

Applications for Hard Goods, Apparel, and Transfer Stickers

UV printing can be used on a variety of hard goods. The UV + DT Fabric version can also create apparel and textile items; UV DTF involves printing transfer designs first, then applying them to curved and irregularly shaped objects. The following applications are demonstrated by the factory; different materials require appropriate inks, versions, processes, and accessories.

04 / DTG & DTF

Same Fabric Ink, Two Printing Processes

xTool uses an OEKO-TEX® certified fabric ink system that can print directly on soft cotton apparel (DTG) or on film first (DTF) before transferring it to different fabrics, shoes, hats, and other items. The factory states that properly produced designs can withstand over 50 washes without fading or cracking; wash durability still depends on using the correct materials, heat press, and curing process.

DTG: Direct Printing on Fabric

It is recommended to pre-press the fabric before printing and cure the ink afterward to improve wash durability and print quality.

DTG Fabric Direct Printing Example
The UV + DT Fabric version must be selected for direct fabric printing.

DTF: Print on Film First, Then Heat Transfer

The O1 first prints the design on film, then applies heat-activated adhesive powder before using a heat press to melt the powder and transfer the design. The factory uses the xTool WonderPress, which has built-in curing functionality, as an example of a complete DTF workflow from printing to transferring; film, adhesive powder, and heat press equipment must be purchased separately.

10 / COLOR & DETAIL

Color Management, Fine Text, and Durable Colors

G7 Color Standard and ICC Settings

The factory uses the G7 standard, custom ICC settings, and algorithms to match ink and screen colors, helping to achieve consistent color reproduction. Actual output also depends on the material, color settings, and process.

G7 Color and Output Comparison

Text as Small as 1 mm

RIP software and motion control algorithms control ink droplet placement; the factory states that text as small as 1 mm (0.04″) can be printed. The machine's print resolution is 720 × 1440 dpi.

Fine Text and Image Example

Durable Ink Colors

The factory's ink technology is designed to reduce fading and maintain image colors; durability depends on the material and application.

19 / FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

What are the main differences between the three versions of O1 Omni, and how should I choose?

UV + DT Fabric Version:Suitable for users who want to meet multiple needs at once. With dual printheads and dedicated fabric ink, it can print on hard items such as wood and acrylic, as well as clothing made of cotton, polyester, and other materials.

Dual Printhead UV Version:Suitable for creators focusing on advanced UV applications. Supports exclusive fluorescent color effects and soft white ink, and can print on hard and flexible materials such as leather and canvas.

Single UV Version:Suitable for beginners and hobbyists. It achieves high-quality personalization on basic hard materials at a more affordable price.

Can the Single UV version be upgraded to the Dual Printhead UV version or UV + DT Fabric version later?

No. Each version is configured with its own dedicated printhead combination and ink system at the factory. Since these components are installed during manufacturing, the version cannot be upgraded later. We recommend choosing the version that best suits your long-term printing needs.

Does the UV + DT Fabric version support fluorescent ink and soft white ink?

No. The UV + DT Fabric version uses the second printhead for textile printing, including DTG and DTF. If you need to achieve fluorescent effects on flexible materials such as leather or use soft white ink, we recommend choosing the Dual Printhead UV version.

What additional equipment is needed for DTF and DTG fabric printing?

The O1 Omni Printer in the UV + DT Fabric version supports both DTG direct printing and DTF film printing.

DTF Printing:The O1 Omni first prints the design onto a film. Then, simply apply hot-melt adhesive powder and use a heat press—such as the xTool WonderPress with built-in curing functionality—to melt the powder and transfer the design. The combination of the two creates a seamless one-stop DTF workflow.

DTG Printing:We recommend pre-pressing the fabric with a heat press before printing and curing the ink after printing to improve washability and achieve professional-grade printing results.

Can the O1 be used with xTool laser machines to achieve a print-then-cut or cut-then-print workflow?

Yes. The O1 works seamlessly within the xTool Studio ecosystem and currently supports P3, P2, P2S, S1, M2, and M1 Ultra.

Once your O1 Omni Printer arrives, these workflows will be fully supported, and you can start creating immediately. We will also continue to add support for more xTool laser machines, including F series models suitable for workflows such as engraving before printing.
