【Vacuum Forming Application】First molding made easy! FormBox real-time video!
Typhoon Lekima is approaching, and 3DMart cares about you! Don't be bored during typhoon holidays, connect a regular vacuum cleaner, and have fun molding at home! The FormBox is simple, easy to use, stable, and affordable, making it very popular. After we shared the FormBox unboxing article last time, many customers were interested in this vacuum forming machine but were hesitant to buy it, fearing they wouldn't know how to use it. Don't worry, the real-time video demonstration below shows simple steps for everyone to follow! (Further reading: Mayku FormBox Vacuum Forming Machine, Hot Unboxing!)
The yellow semi-circular object demonstrated in the video is an architectural model from the official FormBox video. We can use a 3D printer to print it using PLA material and use it directly.

(Architectural model example used as a transparent greenhouse abroad)
Since the ceramic heater at the top can reach over 300 degrees Celsius, be sure not to touch it directly with your hands to avoid burns. However, operating it normally with both handles, as shown in the video, is very safe.

In addition, we also filmed another mask model from a different angle. This object was also directly used after being completed with an Ultimaker 3D printer. The most convenient part is that by following similar methods, almost every individual can easily create their favorite works and replicate them endlessly. Whether for preserving replicas, mass production for sale, or outer packaging, it is very practical.

One of the key technical principles to consider in vacuum forming design is evident in the mask's eye socket area. You can see four small through-holes in the concave part. This design allows air to escape smoothly from the concave area during the vacuuming process, which enables the shell mold in the concave area to adhere more closely to the surface shape.

The FormBox comes with two types of original material sheets, both 100% recyclable. The white material sheets are suitable for samples that will be painted or for general packaging, while the transparent casting sheets can be used directly as food molds. This method is already widely used by the artisanal chocolate chain Paul A. Young in the UK. (Further reading: Artisanal Chocolate Shop: No need to outsource food molds!)

Due to the excellent adhesion of vacuum forming, the molding effect of the transparent sheets is almost indistinguishable in photos, except for reflections. This effect can be achieved simply by connecting a household vacuum cleaner, making it very easy to use in offices, studios, or educational institutions.
