【Laser Engraving】Unboxing the Evolved Beambox II Laser Engraver and Cutter

The evolved "Beambox II Laser Engraver and Cutter" boasts significant upgrades compared to its predecessor.
Not only does it offer a larger working area and an upgraded 55W laser power, but it also provides more efficient engraving speeds and many convenient features. Let's take a look together.

UnboxingBeambox II
The new Beambox II has significantly improved overall specifications, such as a 1.5 times larger working area, increasing from 40×37.5cm to 60×37.5cm, and a working depth increase from 80mm to 125mm. Thus, the machine body is also larger.
The original factory's packaging and cushioning measures are very thorough.

BeamboxII

After unboxing, you can see the power cable port and the main power switch at the back of the machine.
On the upper right side of the machine, there is also a silver-textured everyday power switch.

BeamboxII

The USB port is located on the lower side of the machine, allowing direct file reading for engraving or cutting. The standard Wi-Fi connector is very convenient, enabling the device to connect directly to computers, tablets, mobile phones, and other devices via a wireless network.

On the side of the machine, you can see the emergency button, which is a very important device.
Safety is paramount, whether at home, in the studio, or in a factory workshop.
This button allows the user to immediately stop any situation from worsening if any abnormality is detected during operation.

At the rear of the device, there are three blowing fans and one exhaust fan.
During laser engraving and cutting, different materials may produce varying degrees of odor or even harmful gases.
By extending the air duct, the internal air can be expelled outdoors, making the working environment safer and more comfortable.

BeamboxII

After opening the top cover at the back of the machine, you can see the Beambox II's water-cooling system.
If the device displays a water-cooling system error, simply add distilled water from this position to resume operation.

BeamboxII

At the top of the Beambox II is a touch control screen. This 5-inch screen allows you to operate most settings.
When you want to start a job, you can directly operate it from here to read files, including updates and tests.

Click the screen to enter the device interface's action functions, where you can test whether each hardware component is functioning correctly.
Various functions can be set within the device, or a password can be set to prevent incorrect operation.
When the machine malfunctions, you can test it from the hardware settings. Test the equipment according to the displayed fault reason to troubleshoot errors.

In addition, there is a network setting function. Many laser engravers and cutters on the market support wireless connection, but most require wired connection for initial setup before wireless network can be used, and sometimes unstable connections occur.
However, every FLUX device has a very stable wireless network connection, and there were no disconnections from the wireless connection during use.

The Beambox II can choose auto-focus or manual focus adjustment, and it can be completed directly on the device.
To use auto-focus, the focus probe needs to be moved down and then retracted upward after focusing.
Auto-focus is very convenient, completing with just one click. Thanks toBeambox II's very accurate auto-focus, the manual focus function is almost never needed, making this creative tool easy to master for both novices and experienced users.

The Beambox II has a very large working window, providing a complete and unobstructed view of the internal working area during operation.
This allows the operator to have better control over the work progress, quality, and any abnormalities.

To prevent burn marks on the bottom of the cut object during cutting, the Beambox II has a very thick honeycomb panel built-in.
The Beambox II's 600X375mm ultra-large working area allows users to place larger materials, thus enabling more creative possibilities.

The laser power of the Beambox II has seen a significant leap compared to the first generation Beambox, increasing from the original 40W CO2 to 55W CO2, and the engraving speed has also significantly increased to 900mm/s.
The newly evolved 55W laser power allows users to cut through 18mm cypress in one pass, and with the focus-reducing function, it can even successfully cut through 20mm cypress.
Acrylic is also no problem, it can smoothly cut through 20mm thickness with high-quality, clean cuts.

Beam Studio
Users can connect to the Beambox II through Beam Studio, which can be operated smoothly on PC, tablet, or mobile phone.
The Beambox II's camera preview function, equipped with a built-in camera from FLUX Lasers, allows users to directly preview the actual image of the object, confirm the actual position and cutting status, and the preview speed is five times faster than the previous generation.
Through this function, users can precisely align the image to be engraved or cut directly to the desired position, eliminating the need for tedious precise calculations like traditional laser engravers and cutters.

Beam Studio has various built-in common material engraving settings, which are very convenient.
Users can directly select and use the cutting parameters and make minor adjustments based on their actual usage.

The focus reduction function can be found in the parameter settings column.
This function allows the Beambox II to cut deeper than expected, by reducing the focal length to be closer to the object.

Beambox II 雷射雕刻機

The Beambox II's maximum engraving resolution has evolved to 1000DPI and can be freely selected in the document settings of Beam Studio.

Furthermore, Beam Studio has an important function: red light preview.
If users feel that the view through the camera preview is not accurate enough, they can use the red light preview to confirm whether the cutting boundary is correct.
The Beambox II is also FLUX's first model to feature both red light preview and camera preview functions.

After execution, users can directly see the area executed by the red light in the work area, maximizing the precision of the work.

Additionally, users can check the estimated completion time on Beam Studio.
So if you don't want to inhale working fumes, you can just come back after the estimated time.
Users can also bring a laptop or tablet, switch to the camera view, and monitor the work area in real time from other locations to avoid any issues during operation.

Beambox II 雷射雕刻機

Beam Studio also has a very powerful feature called automatic alignment, which can automatically detect objects of the same size and intelligently apply patterns in one go.
This feature eliminates the need for tedious manual alignment settings when repeatedly engraving or cutting objects, leading to greater efficiency.

Expansion Accessories
The Beambox II not only has powerful native capabilities but also supports three expansion accessories, including wide-area engraving, a roller rotary module, and a chuck rotary module.
The wide-area engraving kit allows the front and rear openings of the machine to be opened, and with the extended laser head of the wide-area engraving kit, users can place longer materials to create their works.

The chuck rotary module kit can be used with the extended base kit to engrave thicker objects.
Engraving cylindrical objects is also not an issue; simply attach the rotary module kit, and you can easily engrave.
In addition, the chuck-style kit comes with different jaw attachments that can be replaced to meet the actual user needs.

Beambox II 雷射雕刻機

In our actual testing process, both the Beambox II device itself and the Beam Studio software were very intuitive and easy to use.
Whether engraving wood or metal, the results were very clear and clean, and the entire process was smooth and fast.

The launch of the Beambox II laser engraving and cutting machine brings a brand new upgraded experience to laser engraving enthusiasts.
Compared to the previous generation, this new model has significant improvements in many aspects.
The Beambox II's upgrades in many aspects make it a major highlight in the laser engraving and cutting machine market, bringing users a more efficient and convenient operating experience.
