【New 3D Product News】Mayku FormBox Vacuum Former, Hot Unboxing!

You've probably noticed recently that 3DMart's equipment range has become more diverse. In addition to 3D printers, we've also started introducing new desktop equipment like CNC machines and laser processing machines. Among these, the desktop vacuum forming machine, the Mayku FormBox, stands out. It boasts compatibility with any household vacuum cleaner (under 2000W) and is very affordable, making it suitable for families, personal studios, or small-scale maker factories.

Let's unbox the recently arrived Mayku FormBox. First, let's watch its introduction video:

After opening the box, you'll see complete styrofoam packaging. Once the styrofoam is removed, in addition to the FormBox vacuum former itself, there are many accessories bundled together with cable ties and a black connection hose. Let's introduce them one by one!

Inside the cardboard box, there's a starter kit, material information, and a manual, etc. What's most special is the inclusion of thoughtful small tools, making it convenient for first-time users or for testing.

The series of forming molds are at the very top of the image. The stepped prototype at the top can be used as a phone stand or soap holder after forming the shell. Feel free to try it yourself. We'll be using the mysterious tetrahedron below for our demonstration.

In addition to the manual mentioned earlier, there are also free material sheets and plaster powder included, making it convenient for users who don't use 3D printing to create prototypes using casting.

Next, let's connect the vacuum cleaner. First, we borrowed a small vacuum cleaner and removed the nozzle from its front. Take out the black connection hose. Connect one end into the circular socket at the back of the Mayku FormBox. You should feel a slight resistance when inserting the rubber stopper. Ensuring it's fully plugged in will guarantee perfect vacuum forming results.

Then, as simple as you'd imagine, connect the other end of the hose to the vacuum cleaner, and plug the vacuum cleaner's power cord into the socket on the back of the FormBox. That's it! Now, power on the FormBox and switch on the vacuum cleaner, and you're ready to start testing!

First, peel off the film from the forming material sheet, place it in the FormBox, and heat it with the heating element above. The FormBox will alert you when it reaches the required temperature. At this point, press down the material sheet. The connected vacuum cleaner will automatically activate as you press down, creating the vacuum-forming blister effect.

Our initial attempt was very successful, with the material sheet perfectly covering the tetrahedron. As seen in the video, different materials have different uses, allowing for the creation of soap, chocolate, food molds, etc. (Further reading: Artisan Chocolate Shop: Food Molds Made Easy!)

Cut out this tetrahedron and place it on your phone to create a 3D "holographic projection." The 3D jellyfish we downloaded has floating movements, and our first unboxing made everyone have a blast. You can also try making one yourself!
