Since Bambu Lab launched MakerWorld last year (2023), it has received a large number of high-quality and diverse models. The manufacturer felt a strong desire from users to create their own models, especially those not proficient in CAD. Therefore, Bambu Lab launched MakerLab, allowing every user to create their own unique models! You don't need to understand design or drawing files, just "scan" the model you have in your hand, and then print out the scanned drawing file. It's simple, fast, and convenient, and you no longer have to worry about annoying design drawings!

MakerLab currently offers "Make My Sign," "Make My Vase," and "Pixel Puzzle Maker" functions. These tools allow for personalization and customization of 3D printed models to meet individual preferences. They are suitable for anyone, even 3D printing novices can create unique items! Users can create items according to their preferences, such as custom name tags for pets, pixel art pieces for wall hanging, or vases that reflect personal style. Completing these print projects not only produces unique creations but also provides a personalized experience, achieving two goals at once.
In addition to the tools already released above, there are many new tools and ideas in the R&D process at MakerWorld. Some are nearing completion, while others are not far from the brainstorming stage. Bambu Lab believes that exploring the potential of experiments with users at this stage is a meaningful endeavor, rather than trying to iterate and refine them behind closed doors before release.

New Section - MakerLab Experiments
MakerLab Experiments is a collection of prototyping tools. Although not yet perfected or complete, and may not meet all current user needs, they are awaiting user feedback to guide development. Some of these prototypes will eventually complete their R&D journey and evolve into formally released products, while others may never leave the "experimental" phase.
Come and help Bambu Lab try out their new features! After trying them out, you can give your feedback, share what excites you, what disappoints you, and what can be improved. Their R&D team will consider your feedback and continuously optimize these tools and their development priorities!

MakerLab Experiments
Currently, only two tools are available: 3D Relief Sculpture and AI Scanner. Although still in their early stages, both are quite innovative and interesting. The Scanner also incorporates the popular AI generation technology.

3D Relief and AI Scanner
3D to Relief Sculpture is a tool we came up with by thinking backwards, allowing you to create unique relief art using your favorite 3D models. Just import one or more models you like, choose the desired perspective, fine-tune the parameters, and compose. After determining the perspective of the selected model, the algorithm will automatically calculate the depth of the model from that perspective to generate the relief art.
The overall effect does not appear out of place even if models of different styles are combined; they always blend well together in the same bas-relief, and now support imported model formats including .stl and .obj.

3D Relief
The AI Scanner allows you to capture videos of objects or people rotating to generate digital replicas that can be used for 3D printing. By taking simple videos of static objects and applying basic 3D reconstruction, we can more comprehensively restore the appearance of objects, effectively creating clones of real-world items.
It can scan both ordinary objects and human portraits; just select the appropriate generation mode. If environmental interference during the shooting process prevents the software from correctly identifying the subject, you can also manually select the subject.
Given server availability, AI scanned model generation typically takes about 30 minutes. However, during peak hours with high demand, this duration may be slightly extended. But there is no need to worry about having to stay on the same page for a long time at this step; you can leave the generation page at any time and return later to check the progress.
Use Maker Lab now
Bambu Lab will continue to update and invite enthusiastic users to play with immature prototypes, witnessing the long journey from brainstorming ideas to refined products.
Experience it and have fun!
