Does a pressure forming machine also need maintenance? What's the difference between regular maintenance and infrequent maintenance? How often should it be done? If you've already purchased or are interested in pressure forming, you might have these questions. For users, the most important thing is to maintain high-quality manufacturing, and that means keeping your Multiplier in optimal condition. This article details the maintenance schedule and procedures. Please note: This schedule assumes an annual usage frequency of 2,500 forming cycles.
Tip: If the usage frequency is higher, more frequent maintenance is recommended to ensure optimal forming results.

6.2.1 Weekly Inspection Tasks

Weekly Tasks:
Clean the seal
The Multiplier has a rubber seal that holds pressurized air inside the dome during forming. The seal is located on the inner edge of the forming chamber, and it's crucial to keep it clean and free of debris, as even a small amount can create a gap. If a gap occurs, an airtight seal cannot form, causing the sheet material to sag and making it difficult to close the lid. If this happens, thoroughly clean the seal and try forming again.
Gently wipe the seal in a circular motion with a damp microfiber cloth. Ensure the seal is properly seated on the dome; an airtight seal is essential for optimal performance. Wipe off any excess moisture with a clean microfiber cloth.
Deep cleaning is recommended every 40 cycles or weekly, depending on user frequency. When the seal needs cleaning, a maintenance reminder will appear on the screen. For deep cleaning, IPA and a microfiber cloth are recommended.

Clean the base plate
Equipment:
• Torx hex key
• Microfiber cloth
• Isopropyl alcohol
To clean the base plate, follow these steps:
1) Locate the screws holding the base plate in place.2) Unscrew them with a hex key to remove the base plate.
3) Use a microfiber cloth and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the base plate, removing any dirt or debris.
4) After cleaning, reinstall the base plate and tighten the screws.
Handle the screws with care and avoid overtightening them during reinstallation. This process helps maintain the performance of the Mayku Multiplier, and it is recommended to clean it every 70 cycles or weekly, depending on user frequency. When the base plate needs cleaning, a maintenance reminder will appear on the screen.

Check heaters for cracks or signs of malfunction
The heaters are located inside and at the top of the dome. A flashlight is recommended for a clear view.Open the Multiplier's lid and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the dome.Never attempt to repair any cracks yourself; if there are cracks, please contact 3DMart.
Monthly Tasks:
Drain the water tank
It is recommended to drain the water tank regularly to prevent moisture buildup and rust. These tanks are made of stainless steel and are rust-resistant, but if not emptied regularly, moisture can accumulate and eventually enter the Multiplier's dome.The recommended cleaning frequency is every 100 cycles or monthly, depending on user frequency.When the water tank needs draining, a maintenance reminder will appear on the screen, providing step-by-step guidance.
Moisture will be released from under the valve, so keep the area clean or place a tray to catch any moisture deposits. It will be loud when released, so remember to use eye and ear protection.
Equipment:
• Hearing protection (earmuffs)• Eye protection
You can also drain the water tank without waiting for the screen to display a maintenance reminder. Here are two options:
1) Initiate water tank drainage via the control panel
• Navigate to the main menu and select maintenance• Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the drainage process
2) Manually drain the water tank
Locate the overpressure valve and pull down the ring (M). A pencil can help trigger the valve. This action will start the drainage process. Please note that pulling the ring will make a loud noise, and your hands may get wet from the water release.Exercise caution when performing manual drainage and ensure you are prepared for the noise and potential water spray.
Clean the temperature sensor
Equipment:
• Air gun
• Cotton swab
To clean the temperature sensor, follow these steps:
1) Use dry compressed air to blow away any debris or obstructions from the sensor. This will help ensure accurate temperature readings and optimal performance.2) If there is stubborn residue or dirt on the sensor, you can use a cotton swab to gently wipe the sensor, taking care not to apply excessive force.
By regularly cleaning the temperature sensor, you can maintain its functionality and ensure accurate temperature measurements during operation.
Clean the reflector
The reflector is located inside and at the top of the dome. A flashlight is recommended for a clear view. It is recommended to clean it every 30 cycles or monthly, depending on user frequency.
Open the Multiplier's lid and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the dome. Excessive plastic dust or residue on the heaters will appear cloudy white and should be cleaned immediately.
Equipment:
• Flashlight• Microfiber cloth
• Isopropyl alcohol
To clean the Mayku Multiplier's reflector, follow these steps:
1) Ensure the bulbs are cool and safe to touch. Let the machine sit idle for a while before cleaning.2) Gently clean the reflector surface with a microfiber cloth and some isopropyl alcohol. The soft and lint-free nature of the microfiber cloth helps prevent scratches or damage to the reflector.
3) When cleaning, avoid direct contact with the heaters. Direct contact can cause damage or affect their performance.
- It is recommended to keep the Multiplier's lid closed when not in use to prevent dust from entering. By regularly cleaning the reflector with a microfiber cloth, you can keep it clean and ensure efficient heat distribution during the forming process.

Lubricate the guide rails
If you notice that your Mayku Multiplier's guide rails are dry and making a grinding noise, they may need lubrication. Here are the recommended steps for lubricating the guide rails:
2) For this purpose, apply a small amount of lithium-based lubricant specifically designed for this to the guide rails. This lubricant will help reduce friction and eliminate grinding noises.
Important note: Avoid using dry lubricants such as PTFE powder or graphite powder with recirculating ball or roller bearings. These lubricants are suitable for sliding friction but have limited benefits for rolling friction. We recommend using Loctite synthetic grease SuperLUBE tube.
