【Laser Processing Application】"Curved Wood Structure" Laser Cutting for Super Flexible Wooden Book Covers!
The uses for the MUSE laser processing machine are incredibly diverse, with wood panels being one of the most common application materials. Through the crisscross design of a curved wood structure, the stress on the wood panel can be altered, allowing a rigid wood panel to bend freely and resist breaking without any prior processing. Searching for "Living Hinge" online will reveal many different design types, enabling wood materials to be processed into a wider range of finished products.

Load it into RetinaEngrave v3.0, the exclusive free online software for the MUSE laser processing machine, and you'll see a visual representation of the cutting or engraving content. Operation and parameter adjustment are very simple. On the right, you can adjust laser power, speed, size, etc. On the left are the layers corresponding to different pattern blocks, for example: engraving image content, cutting lines in different layers, or making advanced setting changes.

Press the preview function to see the maximum range the laser head will "dry run" before cutting. After placing the material, you can start engraving! As shown in the animation below, the pattern will gradually appear like this. This particular pattern size only takes about ten minutes to complete, which is very fast!

The widest side of the MUSE laser processing machine is less than one meter. The base plate can be detached to allow for unlimited expansion of the cutting material below (for example, placing a door panel or guitar for engraving). Compared to general industrial machines, it is very compact and performs excellently. Operating it by tapping the color touch screen on the right makes work easier.

The cut edges are very clean and clear. When removing the finished book cover, simply press it open gently. The animation clearly shows the bending effect has been achieved, and the right book cover even fell off on its own!

Let's actually flip through the pages. You can bend it with just one hand, and the original resistance of the wood board has almost disappeared. After threading a strap through the holes in the base plate, a unique book cover is immediately completed, taking only about ten minutes from start to finish.

If you want to create a more retro or aged feel, you can adjust the MUSE laser power and speed as needed, which will produce various laser processing effects. For a detailed comparison of effects, you can refer to the previous MUSE laser processing machine unboxing article.
