【NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH】UltiMaker launches new flagship S7 with integrated air manager, flexible build platform and other new features!
Since the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBot, UltiMaker's first new S-series features an integrated air manager and flexible build plate, among other new features, bringing ease of use and reliability to a new level, making it more accurate than its predecessor. The new automatic bed leveling feature improves first-layer adhesion and prints on a 330x240x300mm build plate.
UltiMaker CEO Nadav Goshen said, "Every day, over 25,000 customers innovate with the UltiMaker S5, making the award-winning S5 one of the most widely used professional 3D printers on the market. And the S7 inherits all the features of the S5, making the S7 even better!"
UltiMaker Fused Deposition Modeling
Before its merger with former Stratasys subsidiary MakerBot in 2022, Ultimaker had already established a strong reputation for developing versatile desktop 3D printers. In 2018, Ultimaker launched the Ultimaker S5, which remained its flagship 3D printer until the launch of the S7. While the S5 was initially designed for dual extrusion composite materials, it has since undergone several upgrades, including a metal expansion kit that allows customers to print with 17-4 PH stainless steel.
Over the past five years, the versatility of the S5 has been adopted by various leading brands, including Ford, Siemens, L’Oréal, Volkswagen, Zeiss, and Decathlon. In terms of applications, Materialise has also successfully used the S5 in medical 3D printing applications, and ERIKS has developed a workflow that meets food safety standards using the S5.
Of course, MakerBot is also well-known in the field of desktop 3D printing. Before merging with Ultimaker, the company was known for its METHOD products. As revealed in 3D Printing Industry's METHOD-X review, these machines are capable of producing parts durable enough for end-use, and companies like Arash Motor Company now use them to 3D print custom supercar components.
UltiMaker's New Flagship S7 3D Printer
UltiMaker introduces a new system with new features, including an inductive build plate sensor that can reduce noise and detect the build area with higher precision. The system's automatic tilt compensation feature eliminates the need for users to calibrate the S7 print platform with winged screws, making leveling tasks easier!
In addition, the S7 has an integrated air manager system, which has been independently tested and proven to remove up to 95% of ultra-fine particles in every print. This not only reassures users about the air quality around the machine but also, with its fully enclosed chamber and single-layer glass door, improves overall print quality.

So what are the advantages of the S7 compared to the S5? Ultimaker has retained the best features of the S5 in the S7, making it not only compatible with the previous generation machine but also capable of printing with the same library of over 280 materials. The upgraded S7's capabilities have been internally tested by Polymaker and igus with excellent results.
