Artist International is an interior design company primarily responsible for commercial space planning for airport duty-free shops and department stores, while also providing residential interior design planning services.
Most of their main clients are well-known international wine merchants. Recently, for a commercial space design project, they collaborated with 3DMart on 3D printing, using SLA 3D printing technology to complete the decorations for the display counter.
Friends who enjoy a drink should be familiar with the famous Dalmore Whisky, most impressive for its lifelike stag's head logo. This time, the 3D printed stag's head will be an adornment on the tasting counter at a duty-free shop in Taoyuan International Airport.

Why choose 3D printing technology?
Previously, most of the decorations used by Artist International in commercial space design projects were made by sculpting a model with clay and then using a molding process. This time, 3D printing technology was chosen mainly because the client provided complete 3D files and requested higher precision in the production of the decorations, thus considering the use of 3D printers.
Artist's design manager stated that they initially considered CNC or metal processing. However, after evaluating costs and time, they concluded that 3D printing was more aligned with their budget. 3D printing is more affordable than other manufacturing methods and can achieve almost all the desired levels of detail.
Production Process

This time, the 3D printing was done using a Liquid Crystal HR LCD SLA 3D printer. After printing, the stag head model was sent to an electroplating factory for plating. Due to time constraints, there wasn't much time for testing. If time had been sufficient, another model with stronger resin could have been printed to better prevent slight deformation during post-processing (electroplating).
After printing, the resin must cure before support structures are removed.
After using tools to remove the support structures, 3DMart's task is complete. The 3D printed stag head is then sent to a professional electroplating factory for surface treatment, making it look as dazzling and metallic as the real thing.

The electroplated stag head decoration looks incredibly exquisite; at first glance, one might genuinely mistake it for a metal product.
After adding the stag head to the counter and arranging the merchandise, the display looks absolutely magnificent!!!

Future Development
Currently, Artist International mainly focuses on commercial space planning design projects. In the future, they aim to expand into residential interior design, allowing clients to enjoy a refined living experience space akin to commercial spaces.
