【3D Printing Applications】Four Practical Cura Applications: Industrial Parts Super Utilized!
Make good use of Cura tips to make industrial parts highly functional. Four applications are revealed, suitable for various industries. Maximize the production efficiency of your dual extrusion 3D printer:
."Schubert" Industrial Actuator

."Heineken" Factory Conveyor Parts

After a long period of transportation, when the outer white nylon material wears out and staff see the inner red material, it means the part needs to be replaced! This not only ensures the safe use of equipment but also saves production costs. The inside of the conveyor belt part is red PLA filament, which appears red in Cura, while the outer nylon filament appears white. This allows for clear adjustment and inspection of filament distribution before 3D printing.
.Jig Materials, Combining Hardness and Softness
Industrial 3D printed parts need to withstand pressure and impact for long periods, while also protecting the products being transported and processed. For example, a jig requires a strong and durable structure with a flexible inner layer to achieve optimal mechanical functionality. Using a dual extrusion 3D printer to simultaneously print two materials not only saves costs but also completes the print in a single run!
For material selection, high-strength ABS, Tough PLA, or Nylon can be used to create the strong outer structure, paired with flexible TPU for the inner layer, ensuring durability and preventing damage even with prolonged use and contact with products.

.Multi-Color Printing Tool Marking
Ford's factory production line (click here to see), when producing industrial parts, needs to meet diverse demands. From assembly, testing, to packaging, the production line must operate with high flexibility and quick line changes, while also maintaining stable production speed and quality.

Utilizing a dual extrusion 3D printer for multi-color printing, a single tool can simultaneously have multiple functions such as aligning logos, securing parts, and assembling devices, significantly accelerating maintenance and development work efficiency.

.Cura's Two Modes: Don't Miss Any Detail
We have previously introduced the various features of Ultimaker Cura software (click here to see). Learning the software functions isn't enough; practical application brings high efficiency! Highlight these two display functions:
.X-Ray Mode:
Before slicing, switch to X-ray mode to clearly see the internal structure of the object. If there are missing blocks or incorrect surfaces, the software will automatically display them in red. You can quickly check for issues in model details and catch errors before 3D printing, which effectively saves time and improves work efficiency.

.Layer View Mode:
When switched to Layer View mode, the 3D model will display four colors, each representing Material Color, Feedrate, Layer thickness, and Line Type.

Utilize the functions in Ultimaker Cura software with an Ultimaker dual extrusion 3D printer to enjoy a highly efficient and high-quality product manufacturing process. Did you like this sharing? Contact us now to learn more about Ultimaker series equipment. We offer more than just 3D printing.
