[3D Printed Item Sharing] Childhood Memories Come to Life!

Do you remember how you used to doodle all over your textbooks when you were a kid, drawing all sorts of weird alien creatures and imaginary monsters, and then giving them names one by one (Yay~ I can name them myself~ What should I call them? How about Da Zhong Tian (mistake))? Have you ever thought that one day these things could become real and appear before your eyes? Designer Leo Haslam did just that. "It all started when I was a kid. Throughout my childhood, I was always drawing monsters or sculpting strange aliens out of clay. Eventually, I discovered ZBrush, which opened my eyes to the world of digital art, and I've been fascinated by it ever since." Ultimaker specially invited Leo to design some prototype creations to showcase 3D printing. After a brainstorm, the composite creature team above – 'Poachers' – was born, and the STL files are freely available for everyone to share!

Let's admire one of our printed warriors, Cortex. The machine used this time was the Ultimaker 2+, and the material used was ESUN PLA+ Light Blue. At the time, Leo had searched for many machines that couldn't meet his quality requirements, and what drew him into the world of 3D printing was the Ultimaker 2!

This handsome gorilla warrior is named Cortex, like a mountain made of synthetic muscle, possessing powerful physical abilities and destructive power. Just look at how even his supports look cooler than others, you'll know how awesome he is!


ESUN's PLA+ has higher melt strength than regular PLA, performing well in areas with overhangs and effectively reducing stringing!


After removing the supports, the light blue color is saturated and clear, like a pristine sky or ocean.


From the back, you can see that this color makes the object's shadows more pronounced, and the layered lines are more clearly visible!


It's also worth mentioning that ESUN's PLA+ improves the material's toughness, not only making the filament less prone to breaking but also increasing the strength of the finished product!


Using the 0.6mm nozzle of the Ultimaker 2+ Olsson Block allows you to stably set a higher layer thickness, printing your objects faster!
