【3D Scanning Application】Scanning can be a lot of fun! Alien Huang is here!
Artist "Alien" Huang Hong-Sheng is soaring in his multi-faceted career as a star of "Mr. Player", host, and singer. His "AES Alien Huang & TAT Plan B" concert on October 13th last month also received rave reviews. The special gift that day, a "3D printed bust," collaborated with Tissot's "Seastar1000", was created using 3D scanning by 3DMART, and we can finally announce it now!

In addition to the monster models and car bumpers we shared previously, let us now introduce the production process of the bust of variety show superstar "Brother Gui" Huang Hong-Sheng! For the bust, we first performed a rough full-face scan using the latest EinScan Pro 2X Plus 3D scanner. This allowed the machine to quickly capture points and also identify areas with insufficient lighting for subsequent enhancement.
The most challenging part of 3D scanning a person's head is usually the hair. This is especially true for Taiwanese people, who mostly have black hair. Black hair can affect the reflection during 3D scanning, making it difficult for the scanner to form an image. Although the EinScan Pro 2X Plus 3D scanner still showed powerful forming results in the image, to achieve the best quality, we still asked Brother Gui to touch up his hair beforehand.
After applying white powder, the hair becomes clearer during 3D scanning. Moreover, since the EinScan Pro 2X Plus uses LED light sources, there's no need to close eyes when scanning a person, thus eliminating the need for additional post-processing on facial features. This makes it a convenient choice for body and head scanning. Brother Gui was also amazed by the finished results and couldn't resist taking a picture as a souvenir. Just like other big boys, he was very interested in the company's 3D printed samples. He is both handsome and friendly in person!
The completed STL file can be directly used for 3D printing, eliminating the need for molds, speeding up the process, and meeting new demands for customized products and urgent delivery deadlines. Here, we'll directly load it into Ultimaker Cura to show you the file's effect.
