【3D Printing News】3D Printing Lecture Debuts at "Southern Maker Space"!

The popular "Maker" trend has been growing in recent years, leading the government to establish "Maker Spaces" in many locations for public use. This time, 3DMart visited one such space, the "Southern Maker Space," located near Xinying Station in Tainan. Its convenient location and high visibility are marked by the round sign at the entrance.

The glass door features cute maker tool icons, and through the glass, various craftworks can be vaguely seen inside. Upon entering, the maker space proves to be even richer than initially perceived, even featuring larger assembled models.

This 3D printing lecture took place in the classroom on the 3rd floor, which was already full of attendees! First, 3DMart's professional instructor introduced the basic molding concepts of common 3D printing. This section alone covered FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), SLA (Stereolithography), SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), and more, as well as recent market developments and trends.

Unlike before, as we constantly pursue advanced manufacturing technologies, we now also offer diverse tools such as laser processing, CNC milling, and vacuum forming machines. We also compare these processing techniques with 3D printers.

This time, we also invited Nobu, the dashing professional instructor for Rhino, to explain how to use various Rhino functions and programming procedures for modeling. The greatest advantage of Rhino software lies in its ability to handle complex curved surfaces. Through computational methods, it can even be converted with a single click, then used with a 3D printer to create physical objects.

The Ultimaker S5 on-site had already started 3D printing from the beginning. To quickly demonstrate the process from virtual modeling to physical 3D printed objects, we also pre-printed a dual-color vase designed by instructor Nobu.

Additionally, the instructor guided students in hands-on practice of changing nozzles, loading filament, and cleaning, demonstrating the practical operation of a 3D printer. Since the new Ultimaker S5 features a touchscreen, it's not difficult at all, and even beginners can pick it up quickly.

Before leaving, let's take another look at this well-equipped maker space, featuring 3D printers, laser processing, CNC milling machines, and various other tools. You read that right! The machines in the maker space even had "Guai Guai" snacks placed on them, a delightful and humorous touch for engineers. We look forward to seeing you here again next time! If you missed the lecture, don't worry, there's also an online easy-read version: Comparison and Principles of Common 3D Printing Technologies.
