This year, the Golden Pin Young Design Award received nearly 5,000 entries from design schools across Taiwan. Among them, 15 works from the Industrial Design Department of National Taipei University of Technology were nominated for 20 awards, and the main visual even made it to the Visionary Awards! Come and see the many award-winning works, commemorative merchandise, and 3D printed gifts!

Online exhibition allows for unlimited time, space, and visitors
The "Young Designers' Exhibition" is the world's largest student-focused design exhibition. Due to the pandemic, the Taiwan exhibition area will once again be held online this year. Come and experience a different kind of design! Take home some 3D printed gifts.

New life for discarded oyster shells: the "Jin Chao Ke Xi" beach bench designed with repurposed oyster shells
Discarded oyster shells transformed into a gradient beach bench! The designers incorporated the layering imagery of tides through different proportions of oyster shell powder, bringing the lines of ocean waves into the chair surface design. By utilizing recycled materials to create outdoor public seating for the beach, visitors can watch the waves, listen to the sea, and touch elements entirely sourced from nature. This also allows everyone to gain a deeper understanding of the diverse aspects of oysters, and the creativity has garnered significant attention! This concept of sustainable circulation and vacuum forming molds is quite similar to the idea of reuse!
Specially designed drone "Life-line" can penetrate burning buildings for line deployment and rescue.
Fires are merciless! Especially in Taiwan, where indoor spaces are often narrow with many corners, it's very unfavorable for fire scenes where every second counts. The designer hopes that a high-temperature resistant drone made of fiberglass can carry water hoses into burning buildings for line deployment, overcoming narrow alleys or breaking through windows. Combined with a thermal imager, it can quickly locate and extinguish the fire source, helping to reduce casualties and public losses, which is truly remarkable!

WHEEHAB smart upper limb rehabilitation aid, combining assistive power and error detection, optimizes rehabilitation effectiveness
Rehabilitation after a stroke is crucial, and the designer aims to lighten the burden on caregivers. WHEEHAB not only allows for training of different body parts, but also automatically provides assistive power when the patient is too weak to continue rehabilitation exercises, helping them complete the rehabilitation without relying on others. Automatic rehabilitation assistance saves effort!

What kind of mysterious merchandise is this? It's a practical and exquisite 3D printed bottle opener!
In addition to the exciting works mentioned above, there are also exquisite merchandise items created by up-and-coming designers. This year, 3DMart collaborated with the Department of Industrial Design at National Taipei University of Technology to use the high-precision industrial-grade 3D printer Ultimaker S5. Using Ultimaker PLA filament, which is less prone to warping, it provides excellent surface texture for objects. It can also be paired with the Cura slicing software (Click here to see: Cura software's latest 5.0 beta, automatic line width conversion, 20% reduction in printing time)!, showcasing the best finished product quality. The resulting 3D printed bottle opener
is free with an order, don't miss out!
