3D Printing Application】SLS Technology in Your Hands! Make Voting Machines Used by Top Leaders Worldwide with Sinterit Lisa!

.Development Background
Thanks to the SLS Sinterit Lisa printer, ELECTOR company can produce test prototypes of voting machines more quickly and easily. The final products are now used in various government agency voting, supervisory committee meeting voting, and management tests and questionnaires during lectures and conferences. ELECTOR specializes in developing wireless voting systems for voting, automatic vote counting, and instant graphical display of results. From a design perspective, the company wanted equipment that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, so they decided to use Sinterit Lisa to produce 3D printed prototypes to complete the voting machine design faster and better.

.Challenges Faced
"Our goal was to create the best physical effect for a handheld voting machine; we hoped to incorporate our years of ideas, modifications, and experience with components into the production process, while maintaining low costs and a light, compact size. In the past, we spent time adjusting, cutting, drilling, and sealing available housing modules on the market; the results still lacked ergonomics and design aesthetics. When we decided to start a new project, we had difficulty controlling certain design variables, such as: proportion and shape, the feeling in hand, and the placement and size of components like labels and logos.

Significantly shortening production time and user-friendly operation are also important. We designed several special structures and latches on the casing to integrate our IC boards, keyboards, batteries, casing, LEDs, etc.

Depending on the production scale, we would have to use plastic injection and mold development; however, considering the very high development costs, we had to use a cheaper technology to repeatedly modify the prototype design before finalization."
──ELECTOR recorded.

.From Proposal to Product
First, a 3D model of the new proposal is created, and multiple design iterations and modifications are made on the computer; then, it enters the 3D printing stage to gather real user feedback. ELECTOR later used Sinterit Lisa for 4 additional 3D prints to improve design details; they continued until they were satisfied with the shape and structure of the new casing before proceeding with mold production.

Because prototype samples can be produced and improved within hours, 3D printing can significantly shorten the time for design, testing, and development phases; using SLS Sinterit 3D printing to quickly produce prototypes allowed ELECTOR to make multiple modifications in a shorter time, thus thoroughly testing and shortening the product's time to market.

Using Sinterit Lisa for 3D printing allowed them to truly understand the appearance and performance of their product before investing in it. This gave the voting machine several features: a more user-friendly appearance and use, faster and easier production process, flexible battery cover produced simultaneously with the casing in a single mold, multiple products can be stacked, and label grooves on the side of the casing.
