【3D Printing Application】Tumor Resection Pre-operative Planning, Surgery Shortened by 1 Hour!
The biomedical engineering team "Mirai3D" has long been dedicated to integrating 3D printing with virtual simulation technology to develop various non-invasive surgeries. The Mirai3D team collaborated with Argentine Doctor of Medicine, Gustavo Nari, to develop and produce biomedical models using 3D printing IDEX technology (Independent Dual Extruder System). This allowed for comprehensive pre-operative planning, increasing the success rate of each surgery. See the complete process here:

.Shorter Surgery Time, Faster Patient Recovery
A 65-year-old female patient once needed a liver transplant. However, she had a history of ovarian and colorectal tumor surgeries and congenital thrombocytopenia. If another surgery were to be performed, any possibility of significant bleeding had to be avoided.
The Mirai3D team used two-color 3D printing to create simulation models of the liver, hepatic blood vessels, and tumor location. Before surgery, the medical team studied various potential issues between the tumor and the liver, and after understanding the vascular structure, they obtained the most accurate reference.

Thanks to the assistance of the 3D printed model, the surgery time was significantly reduced by nearly 1 hour! Shorter surgery time means faster patient recovery. Less time under the knife also effectively reduces the risk of sudden complications and infections.

Did you like this sharing? The more professional the medical team's technology, the safer and less damaging the post-operative results for patients. Combining with 3D printing technology not only saves costs and time but also shortens patient recovery time and increases the confidence of the medical team. 3DMART offers more than just 3D printing.
