The Prusa XL Enclosure is an optional accessory that integrates seamlessly with the original Prusa XL 3D printer.
It provides a stable printing environment and higher printing temperatures, making it easier to print advanced materials such as PCCF, nylon, PP, ASA, and more.
The enclosure eliminates drafts, prevents warping, and thanks to its advanced filtration system (HEPA filter with up to 99.9% efficiency), it also helps reduce odors and prevents ultrafine particles (UFPs) from spreading into the air.
Additionally, the enclosure reduces printer noise and covers all moving parts of the printer.
Seamless Integration
The XL enclosure is designed to integrate seamlessly with the rest of the printer. Not only the hardware, but also the software: since the enclosure is directly connected to the printer’s mainboard, you can configure many useful features directly via the printer’s LCD touchscreen. You can adjust filtration performance and even set post-print filtration duration, allowing the system to run longer and filter all particles generated during printing; you can also easily control the LED strip and monitor the HEPA filter lifespan directly from the printer menu.
Print Advanced Materials with Ease
The advanced filtration system is equipped with a high-performance HEPA filter (up to 99.9% efficiency), helping reduce odors and prevent ultrafine particles (UFPs) from spreading into the air. The XL printer automatically controls filtration, drawing air from below and exhausting it through the HEPA filter out of the enclosure. You can monitor the temperature inside the enclosure via the thermometer on the enclosure door (for reference only) or through the printer display.
For materials that produce fewer particles and odors (such as PLA and PETG), the system does not automatically activate filtration in order to extend the filter lifespan, but you can enable it manually. The enclosure includes an additional LED strip that synchronizes with your XL printer—besides illuminating the print area, it also serves as a printer status indicator.
Everything is ready—no DIY required: The package includes all parts, including plastic components, so you do not need to print anything yourself. You only need to replace a few plastic components on the printer (such as push rods or belt holders) with the heat-resistant PCCF parts included in the box.
Stable Printing Environment
The enclosed printing chamber creates a stable environment, increases printing temperature, and effectively isolates cold air and drafts. This is especially ideal for printing high-temperature, warp-prone materials such as PCCF, nylon, and PP. It also reduces dust accumulation on moving parts, thereby extending the printer’s lifespan.
Advanced Filtration System
This filtration system is particularly useful when printing with materials such as carbon fiber-filled PC or others that generate particles during printing. It also helps reduce odors and prevents ultrafine particles (UFPs) from spreading into the air when printing certain materials.
High-Quality Components
The frame is made of metal, while the side and top panels are made of PETG plastic. The frame includes mounting points for installing various additional printed parts, electronic components, cameras, and other accessories, along with neat cable management features.
Bellows Cover
Some materials (such as PLA) degrade in performance at higher temperatures. Therefore, we designed a special magnetic bellows cover that can be quickly folded to improve airflow. The bellows cover is made from high-quality, durable polyester and polyurethane materials. Unlike traditional hinged doors, the folding cover does not require extra space and allows better access to the entire print area.
